Time to Get a Website

There’s a natural synergy between these websites I run. Here at SellWholesale, I try to help individuals start their own businesses. Whether they be work at home, affiliate, or real brick and mortar operations, I aim to give you some sound advice and lead you down the right path to success.

Well, I also run a technology consulting company called BusinessHut. This might come off as a self-indulgent plug, but I connect with a lot of people on SellWholesale who could really use the services I offer at BusinessHut. My rates are very competitive and I bring both technical and business expertise to the table. So, all sales-speak aside, the services available are below. If you need something not shown, try contacting me. There’s a good chance I can help you but don’t officially offer such a service.

  • Buy a Website: You can be up and running with a professional website within a week.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO): A broad term covering all aspects of online marketing. I can help with keyword research, best-practices audits, link building, pay-per-click, and more.
  • Conversion Optimization: If you have traffic, but visitors aren’t buying, we can test different options to see what works best.
  • Google Analytics: We can install, customize, troubleshoot, and help you understand your web analytics.
  • Web Development: If you need an online application or database interface, we can do that too.

We’d love to work with you. Feel free to call or email.

Thank you,

Restaurant Equipment Suppliers

If you own a restaurant, or are fortunate enough to have some of this great equipment in your home, here are a few resources to help you find the best deals on restaurant equipment and supplies.

Katom.com claims to be, “The Restaurant Equipment & Restaurant Supplies Superstore,” and I’ve found this to be pretty accurate. They have over 60,000 products at wholesale prices, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding what you’re looking for. They’ve also been around for 23 years, so you can trust they know what they’re doing and can help you with your purchase if needed.

One thing that makes Katom unique is that they are a recycling drop off for their newspaper. They use this recycled newspaper in their packing, instead of foam peanuts to ship your products. They also have a separate section of their website devoted to “green” products. These are mostly just their most energy-efficient products, but at least they’re making an effort to promote these products.

Food Service Warehouse

Another great restaurant equipment supplier is FoodServiceWarehouse. FSW also has a huge selection of restaurant equipment, but they also carry catering supplies and equipment. They have a good selection of stylish, and affordably-priced catering display stands.

FSW also has a section of their site dedicated to restaurant education. They have several resources available to help you decide if running a restaurant is something you really want to do, as well as how to run it if you decide to take the plunge. Check this section out if you’re just getting started in the restaurant biz.

Restaurant Depot

Restaurant Depot has locations all over the United States and is one of our suppliers that also has food available for sale. Restaurant Depot locations are actually set up very much like a Sam’s Club, Costco, or BJ’s Wholesale depending on what part of the country you’re in. In addition to this, Restaurant Depot also has a great selection, much like our other suppliers.

I think these are some great sources for your restaurant equipment needs. Do you have any that you’d recommend?

Doba.com Drop-Shipper Review

Whether you are starting an online business or
expanding an existing one, you’re going to need a drop
shipper that you can trust. When it comes to online
sales, your name and your reputation are on the line and
this is no time to take chances. The best thing to do is
to base your business on the solid rock of trust and
experience. When it comes to trust and experience, the
first name in online drop shipping is Doba.

What is Doba?

With connections to more than three hundred wholesale
distributors, Doba is regarded as one of the most reliable
drop ship companies around. In fact, Doba is one of
the elite 30 Certified Service Providers in eBay.
Impressively, Doba has been ranked yet again as one of the
most quickly expanding companies in America for the third
year running.

How it Works

At Doba, the entire selling process is very simple. For
example, what happens in the process goes like this:
First, you login to your account. Then you choose the
products you want to sell. Next, you create a listing for
those products wherever you desire to sell them. You then
receive the money from what you sold. Finally, you simply
login to Doba and place the customer’s order. Doba will
handle the rest.

Benefits of Doba

Doba has already created packages for the brand new,
start up business as well as a plan for the advanced
business. These packages include both access to an amazing
array of products as well as seller tools and
comprehensive training.

With Doba, there are millions of products available
wholesale that will be drop shipped right to your buyers.
It is thrilling to see that so many recognizable brand
names are available at Doba, for example, Sony, Dell,
Adidas and many others.

Some of the many categories available include apparel,
shoes and jewelry, automotive, industrial, books,
electronics, games, books, health and beauty, home and
garden, kids, outdoor and sports. Then there are so many
subcategories within the overall category listing.
Anything you could want to sell can be found at Doba.

It is so convenient and easy to be able to do
everything in one place. They have made it super simple at
Doba. You just have to look for what you want to sell,
list it, sell it, do the transaction with Doba and
everything else flows from there.

14 Day Free Trial from Doba

As if all this isn’t enough, Doba even offers a free
seven day trial (14-day trial for a limited time). This will
allow you to experience the benefits of Doba yourself
directly. You could just try it and see how simple it is
and whether it would work for you and your type of
business. This kind of offer is great because there is
really nothing to lose. Why not try it? As the wise old
saying goes, seeing is believing. See what it is like for
yourself. No amount of explanation can take the place
of solid experience and once you experience Doba
for yourself you will come back again and again.

Now you know what Doba is, how it works, some
benefits as well as the 7 day trial offer. Apart from the
reliability and utter trustworthiness of Doba, what really
makes them stand out is how simple they have made this
process. Nobody wants to be confused and mixed up in a
difficult transaction. Doba makes everything so easy and fun.
Since you know this now, give the seven day a try and begin
your exciting online career in successful selling today.

* Doba has recently been offering a 14-day trial. I’m not sure
how long this will last or if it has already expired. Give it a try
and let us know what you think.

RebelSunglasses.com in Progress!

After a long and difficult research process, I’ve gone full circle and decided to go back to selling sunglasses. I can’t give too many details just yet, but the plan is to sell wholesale sunglasses from our new website, RebelSunglasses.com.

We still haven’t decided on the exact product line, but just about anything related to sunglasses is on the table. We’re looking into premium sunglass brands, replica sunglasses, and even importing sunglasses from other countries. As I mentioned above, we’ll be selling the sunglasses at wholesale, by the dozen. We may dabble in individual sales, but I think wholesale will be our primary business model.

We’re still in the business planning stage, setting up bank accounts, finding wholesale suppliers, getting partnership agreements in place, but we plan to officially launch by May 1st, 2009! If you’re interested in selling sunglasses in your shop, at flea markets, or at events, leave us a comment and we’ll be sure to contact you once everything is up and running.

Sell Wholesale Zippo Lighters

After reviewing the site searches this week, I have chosen Zippo Lighters as my wholesale research product. I started out by searching on Liquidation.com and found many auctions for “zippo type” lighters. Unfortunately, all of these auctions were closed and there weren’t any active auctions for Zippo lighters.

I found one site that seems to carry wholesale Zippo lighters, named Siskiyou Fine Pewter and Gifts. They have over 100 styles of Zippo lighters. They have a minimum order of $200 and you must sign up for an account before you can make a purchase. The signup process requires you to have an active website and agree to their dropshipping rules. Nothing out of the ordinary here, but to get the actual prices, you’ll have to test them out for yourself.

For a more official source, you might choose to contact Zippo directly. To become a Zippo retailer, just visit the official Zippo Retailer website. Just fill out their information request form and supposedly they’ll have someone contact you about becoming a Zippo retailer. If you’re looking to sell wholesale Zippo lighters, this is by far the best route to take.

For more updates on how to buy wholesale products, make sure to subscribe to our newsletter by using the form to the right. You’ll also receive a free ebook about how to make money with ebay!

Hot Deals at Liquidation.com

I know I’m always pimping Liquidation.com, but so far they’re one of my favorite resources for wholesale merchandise.? Free to get started.? No commitments.? It’s almost as easy as Ebay, but with the intent of buying things to make money.

Liquidation.com has a Hot Deals section where they list the auctions that are ending soon.

One product that stood out was the Stix 400 game. While it’s getting mixed reviews as a Wii remote knockoff for your PC, there seems to be a market for them. (ie. anyone not fortunate enough to have a real Wii yet) I’ve seen the Stix 400 version online for $20 to $40. At this moment the bidding is at $175 for 96 of them. (ie. a pretty good price) They also make a Stix 100 and Stix 200, but both of those got very negative reviews from gamers.

Before you buy anything from Liquidation.com, always make sure to check the condition of the product. It will be labeled, New, Returns, Shelf Pulls, or Salvage depending on the source of the merchandise.

Take a look at Liquidation.com’s Hot Deals as soon as you get a chance.

SaleHoo.com Review Redux

Originally, I thought SaleHoo.com was a site very similar to Liquidation.com where you could buy products directly on their site. However, my original review was based mostly on their sales page. This was before I had much time to do a full review of Salehoo. I apologize for this, and hope to clear some things up with this post. (Here’s the first review of SaleHoo.com)

Q. Can you buy anything directly from the SaleHoo website?
A. No. They are basically a directory of wholesale suppliers. You search for a product and a list of suppliers that carries that product is displayed. If you click one of those listings, you’re taking to a “company detail” page that lists the supplier’s name and business information. They also have member reviews listed on this page.

Q. Are the member reviews useful?
A. There are a few good reviews scattered around, but for the most part, each supplier has 1 comment stating that the company does what they say they do. There are a few useful user submitted comments, but this wouldn’t be my main selling point.

Q. Is the member forum useful?
A. Yes. Very. This may be one of the best reasons for signing up for SaleHoo. They have topics covering everything from how to get started, to commenting on bad experiences. The forum has over 50,000 members and 30,000 articles. Access to this forum is worth the selling price.

Q. What is the SaleHoo.com Research Labs?
A. This is a great new addition to SaleHoo, because it helps take some of the guesswork out of choosing a product to sell. Just enter a keyword and the research labs will give you a plethora of great information about that keyword/product. The information is geard toward selling on ebay, and they give you information such as Average Sale Price, Sell-Through Rate, Best day to end your auction, most common auction duration, and a rating of how much competition you’ll face. This tool is a great start for any of your product research.

They also have a Learning and Training Center with articles about setting up your business, watching out for scams, selling on Ebay, and how to import products internationally.

So SaleHoo.com is a bit different than I first expected, but it turns out that it’s an excellent resource for finding and researching wholesale suppliers. They have some excellent tools which actually makes them much more than just a directory. For the relatively small fee, you do get a good list of wholesale sources, and access to a member forum that’s very useful. I think Salehoo is one of the best ways to get your wholesale business off to a quick start.

LCD TVs at Liquidation.com

Since starting this blog, I have had more questions about LCD TVs than anything else.

I’ve reviewed several suppliers, but I’m going to defer once again to Liquidation.com. They currently have over 323 auctions for LCD TVs. The lots range from $50 for 1 Magnavox 52″ HDTV to $3000 for 100 Sharp LCD displays.

They also have plasma tv auctions, but they’re not nearly as popular as LCD. At this moment, there are only 89 auctions for plasma tvs, but you can check them out here.

As always, do your homework before buying anything at any site I recommend. Liquidation.com is a reputable site, but they also deal with other sources for wholesale products. Remember that you may not always be dealing directly with Liquidation.com. And also remember to research the products you’re buying. Are they refurbished, salvaged, returned, or brand new? Is there a warranty? Be tough with your questions. If the supplier doesn’t give you straight answers, or you just get a bad vibe, you’re better off walking away.

Win $500 from Liquidation.com

Liquidation.com is running a contest where you could win $500 just for bidding on one of their auctions. ?It doesn’t even look like you have to win. ?You get one entry for every bid you place.

I think Liquidation.com is one of the best resources we’ve reviewed, so a contest just makes it that much better.

:::From Liquidation.com:::

Promotion Details:
Bids must be placed between 12:01am on 11/27 and 11:59pm on 11/30. You will earn one entry per Liquidation.com auction that you bid on between those times.

The winner will be randomly selected on December 10, 2008 and will receive a $500 check from Liquidity Services, Inc.

If you haven’t done so yet, now would be a great time to sign up for a free Liquidation.com account!
